Virginia State Police in Tysons said several cars crashed on the inner loop of I-495 near Chain Bridge Road just after 10 p.m., NBC4 reports.
Paramedics rushed one person to the hospital and another person who declared dead in the pile-up. Police didn't release any information on those people.
Investigators closed down all lanes of the inner loop just after Leesburg Pike as they tried to make sense of what happened. All roads were re-opened by Wednesday morning, the news station reported.
